About

Rooted in Faith. Rising for the Ummah.

The name Suhbah is drawn from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ — the Sahabah — who showed that knowledge, character, and service are inseparable. It is the transformation that happens in righteous company: when hearts gather with purpose and souls are shaped together. We started by serving hundreds of Edmonton families in borrowed halls and temporary spaces. The programs grew. The students came. The community answered. Alhamdulillah, now we have a home.We are not just building a building. We are building a lighthouse — a permanent home where every searching soul finds guidance, every child finds their deen, and every family finds belonging.

With the opening of Suhbah Islamic Center, founded and led by Maulana Rizwan and his team, we feel hopeful for what lies ahead. For so many families, there has been a longing for a place where our children can feel equally welcome and supported. A place where they can ask questions, build friendships, grow closer to Allah, and learn about their deen without feeling judged. Somewhere they know they can always come back to.
